Green TeamLykians can make a big difference...
 As LykiaGroup to add new activities to our environmental work and to lead our guests to awareness we are proud to announce the launch of our “GreenTeam”.
World has lost 6 million km2 green land in less than 200 years. During this time water usage has risen from 100 km3 to 3,600 km3 per year.
For a country in order to be considered rich in water sources, water per person should be 10.000 m3; this amount in Turkey is 1.430 m3. So Turkey is not as rich in water source as thought.
To create environmental awareness and save on source since 2002 as LykiaGroup we have been doing the following activities.
LykiaWorld Ölüdeniz has 90 hectare green land which equals to 12 football fields. Within the resort lives, 4.300 trees, 4.900 plants and 35.000 sqm ivy. The location of the hotel doesn't just protect its vegetation but also supports its environmental being.
In our properties we use recycled water to water our gardens. In the watering of LykiaWorld & LinksGolf Antalya golf course we use surface water rather than underground water. The type of grass used on our golf course also enables us to water the grass with sea water.
No trees have been cut during the construction of LykiaWorld & LinksGolf Antalya, on the contrary after its completion we will be greening a land with sand dunes. In addition we are also taking provident precautions. To save on energy, for LykiaWorld & LinksGolf Antalya's AC systems Köprüçay rivers water will be used as cooling water. To create water savage in the bathrooms, flow regulation systems are being used. Also since 2006 we have been collecting the oils from the kitchens and provide its recycling via our local providers.
To remind our guests, our social and environmental responsibilities and to include them in our activities we provide leaflets in the guest rooms regarding “environmental awareness” and “environmental living”. Via this method we have since 2002 with TEMA's “10 billion oak tree campaign” have supported the planting of 91.000 oak trees.
In scope of the GreenTeam movement, with the leader ship of the Human Resources, Quality, Landscaping and Sales & Marketing departments and with the participation of all Lykians we will realize our activities. We will share with you our activities periodically via news letters. During this period the support of our managers and volunteer participation has a very high importance.
We believe that Lykians can make a difference in protecting the next generation's life quality.
