Internship Programme

LykiaWorld Diving Centre Internships will enable you to gain practical experience in teaching and guiding divers, learn different techniques and methods, and immerse yourself in the workings of a PADI Gold Palm, Instructor Development Centre. All of this will facilitate the search for rewarding employment in the diving industry. Once your internship is completed we will assist you in applying for employment locally or overseas.

To enrol in all Instructor Internships you must have been a PADI Open Water Diver for at least 6 months

SILVER– DIVEMASTER INTERNSHIP £725 €1085

Advanced Open Water to Divemaster – 3 weeks
Designed to take you from the basic recreational level of Open Water diver to the first professional level of PADI Divemaster in just 3 weeks. This intensive, but fun course covers the full range of practical diving skills, techniques and theory. Working with PADI Instructors you will expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to a professional level, your confidence growing with every breath. Once qualified your journey begins as a PADI Professional.

GOLD – CAREER DEVELOPMENT £950 €1425

Divemaster & Instructor Development Course (IDC) – 5 weeks
For those already at the level of PADI Rescue diver with wide ranging diving experience, we offer a program that combines the Divemaster and Instructor Development Courses in 5 weeks. This is the heart of PADI Instructor Training, where you will apply your diving knowledge and skills, whilst learning to use the PADI System of diver education both in the classroom and in the water. The first part of the IDC is made up of the Assistant Instructor Course where you gain further experience and knowledge. It’s followed by the Open Water Scuba Instructor program, which is the final step in your quest to become a PADI Instructor. You will also learn to manage and adapt the PADI System to suit individual divers needs.

Divemaster, IDC, IE & Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) – 6 weeks
Complete all the training from the Gold Internship and add further courses to your Instructor profile. You can increase your marketability and create a greater demand for yourself by becoming a PADI Speciality Instructor, EFR Instructor, Oxygen First Aid Instructor and a Master Scuba Diver Trainer with the Gold plus Internship Program. You will be assisting/ assisted by the Course Director and Staff, who will supervise all your courses. They will ensure you learn all you need to know to be a successful PADI Specialty Instructor in 5 different Specialty areas.

Advanced Open Water to Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) – 8 weeks
Starting from Open Water diver the Ultimate Career Development Program takes you up to Master Scuba Diver Trainer. This program consists of 19 parts and can be completed in one block of 8 weeks, or you can split up the courses to suit your needs. Starting with the Advanced Open Water and combining the Silver, Gold and Gold Plus programs detailed above, the Platinum Internship Program is the best value package available. It ensures that you have all the skills and qualifications you need to succeed as a PADI instructor and secure employment in the career you have always dreamed of.

Gain invaluable, real world teaching and time management skills by shadowing a PADI instructor for a week, or longer if your time allows. This program enables you to watch and assist an instructor at work with real students, broadening your experience and enhancing your employment potential. You will receive coaching and constructive feedback on your performance, ensuring that when the time comes, you can conduct your own PADI courses with confidence and expertise.
